GSCS transportation is resuming at 4:30 pm. The severe weather has passed and is now safe for busses. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
Spalding County is under a severe thunderstorm warning until 4:30 p.m. Buses have returned students to their schools until the storm passes. It is not safe to operate buses with wind above 40 mph and this storm had winds that reached 60 mph. The weather is moving from west to east and the area of high wind is nearing the east side of the county. Once the wind and weather has subsided we will resume bus transportation and notify parents. Thank you.

I hope this message finds you well. Here are your PAW Points of the week. As we embark on the 23-24 school year, please know that we are looking forward to serving your child at Kennedy Road Middle School. Attendance is imperative. Parents, please help us in making sure your child is at school on time each day. To recognize good attendance, we intend to have a Day Dance on September 1st for students who met select criteria. 95% average daily attendance for the month and no office discipline referrals (no ISS/OSS). Please be mindful of the following 10 ten things to know as we head into tomorrow.
Students must be in class by 9:00am to be considered on time
The building opens at 8:30am for students, and the school day ends at 4:00pm
Only clear or mesh book bags are allowed
Only water may be consumed in classrooms. Food or drinks may not be consumed in the classrooms or hallways.
No holes above fingertip length unless tights are covering those areas
Flip flops, blankets, and head gear are not allowed. Hoodies may not be worn while in the building
Midriffs should not be exposed
Skirts, skorts, and shorts above fingertip length are not allowed
All lunch must be brought in a lunch box
Fast food cannot be ordered or brought into the building
Our focus is to ensure students are reading, writing, speaking, and solving grade level content everyday. Our school motto is “Empowering the Leader in You. Let’s have a great school year! Thank you parents for your support. Go Cougars!

The GHS Band of Gold, under the direction of Mr. Daniel Goodmond, entered the 1-800 TruckWreck 3rd Annual Greater Atlanta Band Challenge this summer. Bands submitted a performance video, as well as a brief bio of the program. I am happy to announce that the GHS Band of Gold has been selected as a Top 10 Finalist! Please help the GHS Band of Gold secure one of the top 3 spots in order to receive $10,000.00 for the band program, which is provided by the Witherite Law Group & 1-800 TruckWreck.
